Boss Design is a British furniture maker with its roots in upholstered seating and a distinctive eye for material, proportion and detail. Founded in 1983, the company brings the skills of furniture making into contemporary workplace and hospitality interiors, creating pieces with a composed presence and an emphasis on comfort.
Craftsmanship at the heart of the collection
The relationship between designer and maker is central to Boss Design. At its Dudley development workshop, prototypes are shaped through collaboration between designers, joiners, machinists, upholsterers and sewing specialists.
That process gives particular attention to the way upholstery behaves: the line of a seam, the tension of the fabric and the support beneath it. These details influence both the appearance of a piece and the experience of sitting in it.
From lounge furniture to defined work settings
Boss Design’s collection extends from individual lounge chairs and sofas to booths and pods, carrying its upholstery expertise into different kinds of space. Amelia and Rosa bring a softer character to reception and lounge areas; Frida and Mews offer more defined settings for work and conversation.
